Big sound for a BURRO in RMC

A few years ago I acquired a brass S scale model of a BURRO Crane, imported by River Raisin Models. This is a nice looking model but – with its short, stiff wheelbase and cramped drive train – it doesn’t run well.

Or, it didn’t – until I added DCC and sound to it. I was able to squeeze a LokSound decoder, a pair of speakers and an electronic flywheel inside this diminutive model – and I wrote a cover story about how I did for the September, 2017 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman magazine:
