
Bring on the miniature snow! I have written a feature for Railroad Model Craftsman magazine that demonstrates how I scratch-built ubiquitous orange wood snow fencing. I have several rolls of the stuff laid in at the section house in Port Rowan, ready to fight drifts in the coming winter.
This was an interesting project. It started with photographing and measuring real snow fencing on a farm near where I used to herd sheep with my eldest border collie, Mocean. I then built a crude but effective loom on which I twist the wire as I add the wooden slats.
