The day begins

The brakeman on Niagara St. Catharines & Toronto Railway 8 watches for traffic as the freight motor prepares to enter Welland Avenue in St. Catharines.

The car barn, located in the heart of The Garden City, is confined to just a single city block. The compact site means sometimes a crew has to pull into the street when sorting the storage yard.
